I finally watched Suzume (2022)

Unfortunately, I think Makoto Shinkai peaked at Kimi no Na wa. This movie was meh...

"I'll come see you... when you are of legal age."

The world-building felt like it tried to fit in every random thing from all Shinkai's favorite movies/tropes and it didn't tie together all that well. But I'm glad the animators got to have fun with the chair Souta turned into for the whole movie!

At least until she started kissing it (him) and sitting on it (him) which seemed to make him uncomfortable...

But we’re supposed to be okay with it because she just has an innocent teenage crush on it (him)....

At least until he comes back for her in what I guess was supposed to be a happy romantic ending
